The Parent & Family Toolkit has been designed with the goal of sharing practices that will engage the families of English language learners (ELLs) in classrooms, schools, and communities. When parents are involved in their child's education at home, they do better in school, and when parents are involved in school, children go further in school—and the schools they go to are better. A home environment that encourages learning is more important to student achievement than income, education level, or cultural background. When children and parents talk regularly about school, children perform better academically. Collaboration between a school and its community promotes responsible citizenship. Be driven to learn English.
Educator & School Toolkit Kit de herramientas para educadores y escuelas
The goal of SW Educators~Counselors-Administrators is to provide and promote activities for parents and adult family members to form cohesive partnerships to ultimately learning together. As a school, we must be driven to celebrate and learn about all the different cultures in our community. These are resources to help promote the learning of English for parents and family members.
(Krashen, 2016) The Educator & School Toolkit has been designed with the goal of encouraging educators to promote these apps and programs with parents of ELL students in their classroom. Educators and schools will benefit from parents and families learning English and being involved in their education. A collaboration partnership between a school and its community members promotes responsible citizenship.
